PROMISING GROWTH EXPECTED AHEAD OF TRADE NEGOTIATIONS BETWEEN VIETNAM AND ISRAEL
The first-ever diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Israel were set up in the year 1993 and the beginning of 2023 completes 30 successful years of this bilateral trade relation. With the completion of 30 years, the two nations recently completed their Free Trade Agreement Negotiations also. These trade negotiations took a time frame of seven long years and 12 different rounds of negotiations to get materialized finally.
It has been said that the VIFTA
agreement is one of the major milestones that was supposed to be achieved in
the bilateral trade between Vietnam and Israel. This will surely give a boost
and extra mileage to the trade figures between these nations. This agreement

largest trading partner of Vietnam in the middle east region. The bilateral

clear that the trade between Vietnam and Israel has grown unconventionally in
the past five years. The balance is also maintained between the imports and
exports as from 2017 to 2019, Vietnam enjoyed a trade surplus whereas, after
2019 till 2021, Israel started enjoying the same.

year 2023, Israel invested a whopping amount of USD 60 million in Vietnam with
regard to two new projects. Out of 67 countries that have invested in Vietnam,
Israel is ranked 12th in terms of investment. The main focus of the
Israeli projects is on IT, manufacturing, and agriculture.
Israeli organizations and companies
are also showing interest in getting associated with local Vietnamese firms
that are into producing clean energy, renewable energy sources, and solar power
projects.
Not only Israel, but Vietnam has also
invested huge sums of money in R&D projects in the Israeli markets.

the bilateral trade between Vietnam and Israel is a success till now and in the
